Mom- Charlotte Smith, Jean’s mother.  Because Bob’s mother had passed away before Jean and Bob met, Bob decides to call Charlotte Mom, long before he marries Jean

Wm.—William Edgar Smith, Jean’s father

Willard—Jean’s younger brother

Dad- Bill Patten, Bob’s father

Nan- Bob’s maternal Aunt Amanda, his mother’s older sister

Cliff Duer—Bob’s best friend from childhood 

Lloyd Sanford—fraternity brother of Bob, friend of Jean’s, who introduced Jean and Bob

Jean—Jean Gove Abbott, Jean’s college roommate and good friend

Bamp- John E. Little, Jean’s maternal grandfather, lives at Corser Hill, Webster, NH

Lois- another of Jean’s college friends

Patty- Jean and Bob’s first daughter, Patricia Jean Patten, born in Natick, MA on March 6, 1945
